There's a product I've been using for a couple of months and it seems to work pretty well, it's called Gray Magic. I have gray in the front and crown of my head and I'm just not ready to give up the hair color. I even color my eyebrows depending on what color is on my hair. I know, I know, I'm not supposed to dye brows and I'm not recommending this to anyone, it's just my preference, my risk to take. Anyways, you can get this at Sally's for under 5 dollars and it lasts for a long time. I'm still using the same bottle I got a few months ago and it's still more than half full and I have used it at least 4 times. If you're not covering gray it helps keep the hair color from fading so quickly, (this happens a lot with red colors) now it doesn't completely wipe out the gray but I've found that it does cover better than when I just use color out of the bottle. There is also a smaller one-use size in a little plastic package that costs about a dollar for those that just want to try it out.
The instructions state that you can use it with all colors, color additives, toners, tints, and non-peroxide hair color. Henna and others in that category, I don't know, I wouldn't risk it.
Just put your color and developer in a bottle and add 20 drops, shake and apply.
Girl! I have to get some of that! Since I`am natural, the color is resisting my grays. When I was permed, my hair was porous, so it sucked up color. I went a shade darker with little results.
ReplyDeleteI do not want to use permanant and screw up my locs!
I'm with you, I'm sticking to the demi's from now on.
ReplyDeleteGirl, I tried that Gray Magic! It works! Covered all my grays completely! Gray Magic is my very best friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much!
I'm so glad it worked for you! That's true, it is a best friend, it keeps your secrets! Ha! Please take a picture, I want to see your hair. I used gray magic this past week with a darker color of natural instincts, Nutmeg. It covered even better than the plum color I used before.
