Makin an effort.....

Right now I'm drinking 2 of these water bottles a day, which is a lot for me. Before I was just drinking some Cran-apple juice in the late evening with just a few drinks of water during the day. I have HBP and I proudly told my Dr. several years ago that I was increasing my water intake and he looked at me with one eyebrow up and said "why are you drinking water when you're taking a diuretic? I thought I was really doing good, I mean that's all you read and see on tv. Well, that was about 3 years ago and in that time passing I've had about 3 different diuretics and they all make my stomach cramp and make me run to the bathroom when I don't even have anything in my bladder. Plus, I still had swelling in my hands and occasionally my feet, so I was like what the heck? So in the last 6 months, I stopped taking the pills for water, (I still take a BP pill daily) and increased my water intake. The first thing I noticed is that my stomach cramps stopped, then I didn't have the urges to run to the restroom unnecessarily literally every few minutes, and now I don't have the swelling in my hands or feet. I was buying bottled water by the case and finally got a filter for the kitchen faucet. So I just keep my bottles filled and in the fridge. I do feel better and when I have to go it's cause I really gotta. Like it's supposed to be.
